Demon Slayer - Mugen Train (Movie 2020)

Introduction of the movie Demon Slayer Movie 2020:

Starting with the Tv Series Demon Slayer Kimetsu no Yaiba Season 1 that began airing in April 2019. The story of the anime series follows Tanjiro Kamado as he sets off to become a Demon Slayer to turn his sister, Nezuko, back into a human.

The series quickly captivated the hearts of fans worldwide with its tragic tale of humans and demons, actions and sword fighting, with the occasional comic moments between characters.

The Story of Demon Slayer Movie 2020 continues after the Tv Series “Tanjiro Kamado, Unwavering Resolve Arc” for the “Mugen Train Arc” in 2021 as an animated feature film. After his family was brutally murdered and his sister turned into a demon, Tanjiro Kamado’s journey as a demon slayer began.

Tanjiro and his comrades embark on a new mission aboard the Mugen Train, on track to despair. Tanjiro and his companions head to their next mission aboard the Mugen Train, a task already on track to despair as countless people have gone missing on the train.

Before Watching Demon Slayer Movie 2020 Here Is the Story:

Story of the movie Demon Slayer Movie 2020: Tanjiro and the group have completed their rehabilitation training at the Butterfly Mansion, and they arrive at their next mission, on the unknown Mugen Train, where over 40 people had disappeared in a concise period of time.

After Enmu is assigned to kill Tanjiro Kamado to become an Upper Rank and obtain more of Muzan‘s blood, Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Inosuke buy tickets for the Infinity Train in search of Kyojuro Rengoku, the Flame Hashira.

Tanjiro hopes he has some info on the Hinokami Kagura. Kyojuro informs them that he was sent to kill a Demon suspected to be the cause for multiple disappearances on the train.

He informs Tanjiro that, unfortunately, he knows nothing of the Hinokami Kagura. He quickly senses a demon and kills it, the group, impressed by his skills, asks that he makes them his Tsugukos and Kyojuro accepts.

Enmu promises to use his powers to give each of them heartwarming, sweet dreams in exchange for their help in carrying out his plan to kill the Demon Slayers. The group had already touched Enmu’s blood by taking hold of their tickets, putting the first act of the plan into motion.

As they sleep, the group falls into vivid dreams as an effect of touching the tickets. Enmu’s minions work on connecting themselves to the group’s dreams through a rope with a special spell that enables them to penetrate the dreams of others, completing the second stage of Enmu’s plan.

Due to the nature of Enmu’s powers, the dreams a person is shown exist in a limited space, outside being an unconscious area where a person’s “spiritual core” lies.

Meanwhile, Tanjiro carries out his dream while receiving more and more unconscious cues from his mind, such as seeing Nezuko’s box or being told by himself in his Demon Slayer uniform that he is experiencing a dream.

At the same time, Nezuko woke up and exited her box after being confused by Kyojuro’s actions before attempting to wake up Tanjiro but to no avail.

Annoyed, she headbutted Tanjiro but ended up splitting her head and started bleeding due to Tanjiro’s comically hard forehead. She then uses her Blood Demon Art, which engulfed his real and dream body in flames, allowing him to wake up and slowly retain his sword and uniform.

The animation is fantastic, a superb blend of classic anime character design supplemented by CGI effects and swooping camera work. The action, like South Korean features Snowpiercer or Train to Busan, takes place mostly on a train where the demon slayers – brunette, magenta-eyed hero Tanjiro Kamado, his tame demon sister Nezuko, blond pretty boy Zenitsu Agatsuma and shouty half-man-half-boar Inosuke Hashibira – come to find a slaying master Kyojuro, who has unique fire-adjacent properties.

But just as the ensemble is getting to know each other, they are sent into sleep comas by a powerful demon and his bewitched child demons. In his dreams, Tanjiro meets his family once again – the ones who were killed by demons in the TV series – and the others have similar reveries, compelling them to decide which reality they want to live in.

Squint a bit, relax your mind and you might find in it a touching allegory that accidentally corresponds to our own, collective emergence from the oneiric, mesmeric lull of lockdown life, in which sleeping too much and dreaming about dead loved ones could have become the new going out.

3. Review of the Demon Slayer Movie 2020
April 19, 2021

This is a film about battles between humans and demons and a character-building buddy movie about maturation.I have not read the manga, nor have I seen the TV series, but it didn’t matter.

The story is simple: On a passenger train speeding through the night, a group of young demon slayers assembles to protect the train’s 200 riders from terrifying demons in what appears to be early 20th century Japan.

The team — members of the Demon Slayers Corps — are led by Tanjiro. The 13-year-old is trying to save his sister Nezuko, who has been transformed into a demon. On the train, the group meets the greatest demon slayer of them all, Rengoku, with his fiery blond mane, and Tanjiro asks to become his disciple.

Together, they battle a shape-shifting demon who often appears as a stylish woman and sports a hand with its own face and independent will.

What makes “Mugen Train” visually mesmerizing is that many of the battles take place in the demon slayers’ dreams. The demons try to either kill or transform humans by entering their subconscious, lulling them into a fantasy world where dead family members are still alive and peace reigns across the land.

4. Review of the Demon Slayer Movie 2020

  • Brilliant. An excellent bridge between Season One and the upcoming Season Two. All of the angst and soul of the series, but with the big story and gorgeous animation you would expect to see in the cinema.
  • Very moving and deeply emotional, but well-balanced with humor and incredible fight sequences. Highly recommended, even for those who have never seen the show.
  • Beautiful environment animation. This movie in the theaters made me want to see more films like this in theaters, it’s way better than at home. IMO!
  • 100 out of 10 yes I said 100 out of 10 Demon Slayer was the cheese need will buy a copy!
  • Screaming and crying the whole time. The manga cannot even COMPARE. The animation was beautiful as usual, the visuals were insane. Audio can be loud in some parts, so bring earplugs if you have sensitive hearing. Honestly, if you cry easily, bring the tissues.
  • Fantastic movie with stellar animation and storytelling. If you have any interest at all in seeing it, definitely do it. I don’t think you will be disappointed.

I saw this in theatres in Japan.

So firstly definitely recommend seeing it in theatres. The screen really does it justice. THEIR EYEBALLS ARE BEAUTIFUL.

If you’re going to watch it in Japanese (which is totally doable as a non-Japanese speaker me), I recommend reading manga chapters 54-66 (chapter 69 is where I think it should’ve ended but *shrug*). It is identical to this. This’ll let you skip the subtitle-wait if you so choose.

So the artwork of the characters are beautiful, but some of the CGI + 2D animation style was a little funky. It gave an uncanny valley feeling due to the realism background, CGI demon-y stuff, and the original art style for the characters. Literally, my only problem.

The 2D character designs are stunnnnniiinnnnggg. I’m so happy with the choreography and movement, but jeez, that CGI and sometimes the background clash.

The soundtrack is on point. I became hyper-aware of the soundtrack during perfectly executed moments with certain character buildups.

Comic relief was perfect, and the characters were true to form.

If you like the anime, you’ll like the movie. Easy as that.

I’m super happy I saw it in general, but especially on a big screen.

PS If you’re not reading the manga but want to continue watching the next anime season, this is a must-watch movie. It’s not a filler movie you can ignore. It influences over the next season. So add it to the list.

Film Demon Slayer Movie 2020 was seen on a huge Imax (the biggest in Japan), and it was a good idea. I recommend you to see it in excellent condition.

I won’t go into it for the story, it’s just the sequel to the anime, and it’s inevitable to watch it if you like the series.

The animation is incredible. I don’t have the words to describe how much I loved it. Whether it was the colours, the movement, the choreography and especially the fights, it was amazing.

Unexpected but a lot of humour throughout the film, we laughed a lot!

Haikyuu!! To the Top Season 2 Synopsis:

Once called a fallen powerhouse and known as “Flightless Crows,” Karasuno High School has finally taken flight at nationals. With a comprehensive performance against Tsubakihara Academy in their first match, the team is now facing its toughest opponent yet: the runners-up of the last Spring Tournament, Inarizaki High School. Furthermore, dealing with the formidable twin Miya brothers only makes things more difficult for Karasuno.

As soon as the match begins, Karasuno is overwhelmed by all the noise and jeers from the supporters of Inarizaki High but rekindles its strength thanks to its own loyal fans. Karasuno also gains some momentum by utilizing an attack centered on Shouyou Hinata, but the eccentric play of Atsumu and Osamu Miya delivers an unexpected blow that leaves their opponent astounded.

Things are bound to get intense as the match progresses between these two teams. Will Karasuno be able to defeat Inarizaki High and overcome the hurdles that threaten its pursuit to the top?

———————–Haikyuu!! To The Top Season 2 is one of my favorite anime franchises. Not just in the sports genre but as an anime in general it’s one of the best. I really enjoyed this season a lot. It’s a typical Haikyuu!! To The Top Season 2 with a lot of tension and hype every match. The art and animation are the usual Productions IG animation style quality.

But I rewatched those “outsourced” scenes after people were so bothered about them. Those frames were actually a bit off. But they’re not that bad to me. Those die-hard fans seem to complain like it’s the end of the world and their life depends on it LMAO.

This season of Haikyuu!! To The Top S2 is also focused on the Nekoma team. And their arc didn’t disappoint me, in fact, their match was really well done and their strategy was one of the best things from this season for me. Again another set of people complains how the show focused on Nekoma and how badly they want to see Karasuno instead of them like their life depended on it. Just fucking why?

And so here it is. It’s finally Karasuno’s focus… The problem was the pacing. Watching this weekly is actually a bit painful. Only a bit for me because I watch other ongoing series too and I easily move on. Binging this show shouldn’t have problems I think. Haikyuu’s 3rd season only had 1 game with Karasuno and Shiratorizawa for 10 episodes.

And I didn’t have a problem with its pacing. Now if I imagine watching 3rd season weekly, it must be painful too. I understand the people who complain about the pacing in this season. It’s actually a bit slow.

The thing is. I think having slow pacing makes a good build-up for the final moment. I think the show Haikyuu!! To The Top Season 2 wanted the fans to hold their emotions in and release them when the final moment comes. And for me, it really worked. To be specific, this final moment happened in episode 11.

And I got the same feeling from the 3rd season with this. It’s one of the best episodes in the franchise. Episode 12 is a good wrap-up. Characters watching themselves on TV and other thoughts about the final match, etc.

Lastly, so the next installment will be the final season (2 cours not sure, maybe 3)… There’s also AoT final season airing and food wars final season just ended recently. There seem to be a lot of big franchises ending around this year.

Thanks for reading! See you in my other reviews.

“Alright!”

One word. Just one, single word.  Yet, Haikyuu!! To The Top Season 2 manages to encapsulate thousands of indescribable feelings, emotions into it. There’s no need to fabricate it, choosing the right inspirational terms, at all. When each and every player inside Karasuno hear that shout amidst the chaos, and look up to the ceiling that is almost blinding, eyeing the floating ball—they know, they don’t need a miracle.

Haikyuu!!  has always been the embodiment of unyielding friendship, unbreakable teamwork, positive rivalry, and adrenaline gushing down the veins of the players, and the non-players. But, Haikyuu!! To The Top Season 2 ‘arc changed that. Maybe it’s considered boring, monotone at first, but it has captivatingly achieved a turning point for the main characters, where they learned and discovered something more than themselves that changed their perspective forever.

In regards to that, there are tons of changes and new insights, new characters to root for, but the one that amazed me is—which I’m going to strongly highlight here—Ryuunosuke Tanaka, the baldy. Depicted as the average, energetic member, he’s done more than his best; breaking out of the frame of not only his diffidence but also his determination that proves he’s not just a great player, but a team player.

Adding this with Hinata’s overwhelming abilities that he discovered as a water boy, and Kageyama’s willingness to wear his cape and pour his real feelings out, it’s almost a crime not to get excited over their match.

The heart-thumping music from Haikyuu!! To The Top Season 2 that elevates the ambiance of tension inside the match, the art—which to be frank here, outsourcing to save budge is understandable but is a downright terrible choice given the company that was chosen—is decent, the animation is great, and fluid.

You can dart your eyes around the screen and still catch a glimpse of where the ball is, where the motion starts and ends, and even feel the weight of each ball as it hits the ground. The climax itself, that last ball, that last serve, that last spike, and that last block are all on point. Enough for one to shed a bit of tear at the journey they’ve come far to.

Overall, Haikyuu!! To The Top Season 2 ends here not with a perfect conclusion, but more to a satisfying one; it depends on which side you’re on, nevertheless. But after all, is said, I dare to say that this part of the season highlights some characters and development that might seem insignificant, but it’s going to impact everything in the long run. And, it does, carve a wide smile on my face.

So, cheers to Haikyuu!! To The Top Season 2. May it continues to reach the top, and beyond; the anime, that is.

The only member of the Hestia Family is the 14-year-old Bell Cranel (voice of Bryson Baugus), so he goes on solo expeditions. He’s rescued by Ais Wallenstein (Shelley Calene-Black), the redoubtable Sword Princess, when he’s attacked by a minotaur way too powerful for him to even question.*

While he’s hit with the blonde heroine instantly, she’s too much above him socially for a relationship to seem something other than a rather attractive dream. And Bell’s got to deal with Hestia (Luci Christian), the goddess, the nubile brunette who’s dotting him. She also convinces the powerful goddess Hephaestos (Stephanie Wittles), the “Lord of the Forge,” to make him the magical “Hestia Knife” that allows him to send ever more powerful enemies and ramp his levels up.

Review of Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? S3

Like the heroes of many harem comedies, Bell appears unimpressive at first: “Little Rookie” and “Vorpal Rabbit” (a reference to “Jabberwocky” by Lewis Carroll) are his nicknames.

But he’s a perfectly good man, like Tenchi Masaki in Tenchi Muyo: kind, well-intentioned, hard-working, and loyal. And his unassuming manner conceals a lofty yet secret ancestry, like Tenchi.

As she always seems in danger of jiggling out of her thin move, the adoring Hestia offers the fan service moments. Like a Band-Aid, she clings to Bell and likes to lie next to him no hanky-panky).

Freya (Patricia Duran) understands and needs to gain Bell’s future powers. As soon as she sees him, Elfin waitress Ryu Lion (Genevieve Simmons) falls for Bell. He encounters more people and unknowingly wins more hearts as Bell stumbles through Orario and delves deeper into the Dungeon.

———————–I really do think that Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? is an above-average anime in the action magic-fantasy genre. The story isn’t bad at all. This season is the typical DanMachi and lives up to the franchise’s overall quality. The art and animation are consistent with previous seasons. I get to see the usual foolish and reckless Bell-kun, cheerful Hestia-sama, and the supportive familia members. And lastly, there’s a new character here. A monster-girl that has human-like thinking and personality.

That’s the main plot of this season. I like how Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? keeps improving every season. Some people seem to hate this show because of Hestia alone. But I think those people are now very happy with the 3rd season because Hestia didn’t get much screen time and she’s not that clingy with bell anymore.

The conflict between “Xenos” is really interesting to me. A lot of characters and families were involved in both during the fights. Personally, I think co-existence with Xenos and humans is possible and I definitely agree with how Ouranos handles the situation. Hermes as usual is the neutral god who wants to maintain balance and never hesitates to play the pseudo-villain role to resolve the conflict. The general idea is that “Monsters vs Bell vs Adventurers” while the gods are also fighting against each other in the background.

If you’re also thinking about romance. NO, it’s non-existent in this season. Bell apparently is not that horny at this time. He’s too focused on the conflict with Xenos. But the final frames of the last episode were Bell and Ais talking in that bridge but the conversation is pretty normal. Nothing to worry about.

Finally, I think how the last episode wraps everything up is a bit weak. The last fight has good action but it feels a bit lacking and not edgy enough to be the last episode. The build-up was really good though especially in episode 8. I think it was the best episode for me. And the last 4 episodes were also able to keep up with it. I’ll explain in the spoiler section below…

———- SPOILERS SECTION Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? ———-
In episode 8, Weine died in front of Bell. I really felt so sad during that moment. Because one of the main motivations of Bell is to protect Weine so if she died, everything was all for nothing. But a few seconds after, Fels suddenly appeared and starts chanting a quite long spell and Weine revived. Yes, Fels finally succeeded on the resurrection spell.

It doesn’t stop there. There’s also Ais who doesn’t agree with Bell protecting the Xenos. In episode 11 they had a confrontation. Ais said that she has sharp claws and wings that make humans terrified. So, Weine purposely tore her wings and fingers apart and bled a lot. She didn’t die but she was actually ready for it. Ais then realizes. She said that she can no longer kill Weine and let Bell run away.

These two ^ are the best parts of this season for me.

Did you know that the real translation of “Dungeon ni Deai wo Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru Darou ka” into English is “Is It Wrong to Seek Encounters in a Dungeon?” – “encounter” being the random encounter mechanic from the classic JRPGs like Final Fantasy. If you “seek” random encounters, you probably are deliberately grinding XP to get ahead, but you’re also risking to overexert yourself or run into something you can’t deal with.

I.e. that is a meaningful question without one right answer, the risk versus reward deal. And then there is a double entendre on top of that, “encounter” can be a “rendezvous” with a girl – be it a Sword Princess or a blue dragon loli. This is just one example of this series having more substance than meets the eye, as Danmachi, for all of its mainstream popularity, still happens to be a pleb filter anime that your average wannabe connoisseur of arts is too low-IQ to like (while simultaneously believing in the opposite).

Season One was a straightforward generic isekai, being distinguished only by the high quality of execution. Since I can hear autistic screeching all the way from here, do note that “isekai” as an anime genre name means action-adventure fantasy with JRPG mechanics, or even more precisely, the “SAO clone”

(the same way “first-person shooter” is the “Doom clone” genre). Any arguments to the contrary, particularly the ones based on the semantics of the words “another world” (which is NOT how “isekai” translates from Japanese) are an exercise in mental deficiency.

Anyway, the “depth” (quotes to emphasize the fact that many people that like using this word as a praise of anime shows they like wouldn’t recognize depth if it bit their ass and held on) of Season One of Danmachi comes from the fact that it took the building blocks of SAO and treated them as speculative fiction.
The MC is overpowered and wins every fight. The MC has a harem. JRPG mechanics are a thing. That’s our baseline. Instead of using these elements mindlessly, or attempting to reject/subvert them, the story tasked itself with building a world where they make logical sense. E.g. the MC is swarmed by women because he is physically attractive, has a pleasant personality, and is a famous prodigy (“bElL iS gEnErIc sELf-iNseRt” – a low-intelligence wannabe critic).

Add on top of that Greek Mythology, core ideas of which (the inevitability of fate; a hero’s place in the world; gods walking among men; etc) the author has managed to capture on a level that flies over the head of 99% of the audience – and you get the objectively best non-comedic isekai there is.

Meanwhile, Season Two tries to mix things up, managing to check a lot of boxes on a midwit’s list of things that make an anime series bad in the process. A dip in production values (especially the action sequences). Huge chunks of the source material content didn’t make it into the adaptation.

A story that actually tried to expand its horizons beyond the standard isekai template and do something original and thought-provoking (Ishtar’s “what’s wrong with being a whore” monologue in its 20 seconds has more “depth” than an entire 3×3 of an average pseud) instead of staying in its comfort zone and spinning the wheels – and as every midwit knows, “a show that confuses me by doing something I don’t understand is stupid and bad.”
In short, Season Two was better than Season One in concept but worse in execution (even if the pleb opinion would make you believe it’s the worst thing since cancer). All this long introduction was necessary so that I could keep my actual Season Three review short – Season Three is peak Danmachi experience as it combines all the strongest aspects of the first two seasons.

More amazing action sequences on the level of Bell vs Minotaur fight – it’s not just that action sequences look good, it’s that they’re episode-spanning and tell a story instead of interrupting (or being interrupted by) a story.
More speculative fiction goodness (a comically evil mustache-twirling antagonist is driven to be comically evil by his hereditary magic schizophrenia).

More godly shenanigans continuing from Season Two – Yato’s Evil Twin (aka Ikelos) is my favorite new character by far, because he’s here to spell out loud what other gods like Hermes, Loki, or Freya are trying to hide under their facades and platitudes – that the gods are there to play The Sims IRL, nothing more, nothing less.

More exploration and expansion of the story’s core themes – Wiene’s arc, which spans the entire season, is like Haruhime’s arc on steroids. What does it mean to be a hero? Sure, you want to protect the weak, but who exactly fits the definition of “the weak” here? How are you going to do “the right thing” if you can’t even tell what it is?
How about when your close friends consider the right thing to be the opposite of what you think is right and go against you? These aren’t the questions you answer with just doing your best and trying really hard – Punished Bell has to do some serious soul searching.

The direction is as good as in Season One. I’ve seen too much anime for my own good during my lifetime. Too often I find myself watching a show that I can recognize as objectively well-made – but still struggling to finish an episode in one sitting because I kinda know what it is doing at every moment.

DanMachi III is in the minority of shows that kept me engaged from start to finish and actually looking forward to new episodes – because new and interesting stuff just keeps happening. This is literally what it means for a series to be well-directed.

9/10 for a top-shelf action-adventure series.

Before watching Jujutsu Kaisen, here is the synopsis:

High school student Yuuji Itadori, idly indulging in baseless paranormal rituals with the Occult Club, spends his days either in the clubroom or in the hospital, where he visits his grandfather in bed. This leisurely lifestyle, however, soon takes a turn for the weird when he finds a cursed object unknowingly.

Yuuji unexpectedly finds himself forced into the realm of Curses by a series of supernatural events, dreadful entities created by human malice and negativity.

He will relax and hang out with his seniors at the Occult Science Club, and leave school by 5:00 pm to visit his grandfather in the hospital. His grandfather instills two important messages inside Yūji as he is on his deathbed – “always help others and “die surrounded by people.

” Since the demise of his grandfather,”These messages are interpreted by Yūji as one assertion – everybody deserves a proper death”. He is then confronted by Megumi Fushiguro, a sorcerer who tells him at his school about a high-grade cursed charm talisman with which Yūji recently made contact.

The talisman, a rotting finger, was unsealed by his friends at the Occult Club, which attracted Curses to the school, creatures which are brought about by negative emotions and reinforced by consuming magical powers present in sorcerers or such charms.

Yūji swallows the finger to shield Megumi and his friends and becomes the host of Sukuna, a mighty Curse, unable to overcome the Curses due to his lack of magical abilities. All sorcerers are expected to immediately exorcise him (and by extension, Yūji) because of Sukuna’s evil nature.

Yūji is however still able to maintain control of his body for the most part, despite being possessed. Seeing this, Satoru Gojō, teacher to Megumi To suggests a proposal to his bosses, he agrees to take him to the Tokyo Metropolitan Magic Technical College – delay Yūji’s death sentence until he eats all the fingers of Sukuna, allowing them to kill him once and for all.

After the ridiculous success of Demon Slayer, the shounen industry is finally taking notes on how to make a successful adaption. There are so many things that can be said about Jujutsu Kaisen, that I’m confused about where to start from.

Let me start by giving JJK’s staff the appreciation they deserve. Being a huge AoT fan, I’m honestly a little bit salty. I’m not undermining AoT, it’s just that my eyes have been spoiled from seeing a sakuga on every damn episode of Jujutsu Kaisen. It’s honestly just so good.

So yes, I’m gonna first highlight the sector which totally carries JJK, the animation. Jujutsu Kaisen is a feast for your eyes. The animation is just so magnificent, starting from the beautiful landscapes to the sakuga on even the smallest fights. The fights are so well choreographed, the camera angles, the keyframes. I don’t have enough words to explain the greatness of the animation.

You have to witness it for yourself. Just like how Demon Slayers impeccable animation by Ufotable carried it, in the same way, Jujutsu Kaisen’s animation by MAPPA definitely elevates the anime to another level. And without the elegant animation, I don’t think Jujutsu Kaisen would be where it’s at right now. So MAPPA definitely needs credit where it’s due, this is how you do the first season of an anime.

One other great thing about Jujutsu Kaisen is its power system. If you’re like me who absolutely loves a great power system, then you’ll also fall in love with Jujutsu Kaisen’s power system. Jujutsu Kaisen has a very concrete power system, which is cursed energy. Cursed energy kind of replicates Chakra from Naruto. Both need a good amount of focus and training to achieve them.

The only difference is that in Naruto, Chakra exists in all beings. However, in Jujutsu Kaisen, not everyone had cursed energy, like Maki, they use cursed tools instead which is also an interesting concept. The reason I love the power system is that it is not too complex neither is it too simple like, eat hair = I’m strong now.
Yuuji imbues his hands with cursed energy, Nobara uses hammer and nails, Fushigoro summons cursed beasts, and Gojou can manipulate space at an atomic level. There’s literally an old man who uses an electric guitar to fight, I fucking love this! This power system and the character’s powers, all make the anime even more amazing for me.

The characters are probably the second greatest part of the anime. Yuuji is such a good shounen protagonist, he isn’t annoying and doesn’t scream all the time, is quite carefree. On the other hand, the other members of the MC trio are just so fun to watch, Fushigoro and Nobara both. I’d be lying if I said that it didn’t remind me of Naruto a little bit.

The fun little rivalry between Yuuji and Fushigoro, just like Naruto and Sasuke, except better. And isn’t it a breath of fresh air, finally having a female MC that isn’t annoying and absolutely useless? In episode 23, when Nobara was suddenly getting sucked into a gate, instead of screaming and crying for help, she just showed Fushigoro a thumbs up, saying that she’ll be fine, like the badass she is! God, I love the characters.

The character goals are really interesting, which also makes the characters, interesting. Yuuji isn’t like other shounen nice guys who refuse to kill people like Deku, he has an actual reason to do that. He highly commends “the value of life”. He also does good deeds because he wants to die peacefully and be remembered as a good person, quite a simple but respectable goal.
Fushigoro is probably my second favorite character in Jujutsu Kaisen. He is very secretive and stoic, all while caring for his friends. In episode 23, we got to see a different side of him, and honestly, he has so much depth to him. I normally hate female delinquent characters so much, I can’t stand them as much as I can’t stand Tsunderes.
I hate how they go “Kimochi warui” after everything. But Nobara is different. She is very talkative during battles, verbally destroying the shit outta the opponent, all while being badass as fuck during all times. She also deeply cares about his friends, she is a great character. Not only this but side characters like Panda, Maki, Inumaki.
Every- again LITERALLY EVERY CHARACTER in this anime is so fucking good and interesting, even the antagonists like Sukuna and Mahito have a considerable amount of depth to them which everyone can comprehend, which makes them so good.
Let me tell you this, an entire paragraph isn’t enough to explain how amazing and interesting the characters are.

The only part Jujutsu Kaisen is a bit lacking in is the story. Since it’s only season 1 and the story hasn’t expanded much, but even still, the story is a bit generic. It feels like a typical monster of the week kind of story. Even the story is a bit average now, all other aspects carry this anime. And yes, the story switches tones really quick, it goes from a dark and gritty tone to a light-hearted tone pretty fast. And the best part is that they perfectly execute it.

No one said that an anime must excel at all aspects. There was no boring moment in the entire anime, despite the story being typical, I always thoroughly enjoyed it. The Juju Strolls are a perfect addition after the end of every episode, no matter how tense an episode is, the Juju Strolls are entertaining to watch.

Now about sound, it’s amazing. The 2 opening sequences and ending sequences are all so amazing. Especially the amazing opening from Eve and the great ending from ALI. After that, there’s the voice acting. Most people can’t differentiate between good voice acting and bad voice acting, but I have noticed that a good amount of anime often fails at properly delivering dialogues.

Jujutsu Kaisen’s voice acting feels genuine and natural, so big props to the talented voice actors. The soundtrack is also quite lacking. It’s not the best there is, but it works. Of course, I don’t expect all anime to have Sawano level soundtracks.

Another thing that I need to separately mention is the eye-catchers. If you don’t know what eye-catchers are, they are that intro-type of clips that are often in the middle of an episode. Jujutsu Kaisen’s eye-catchers are so captivating, they have this horror-y feeling to it.

Now to sum it all up in one sentence: Jujutsu Kaisen is great.
Jujutsu Kaisen has to be one of the greatest new-gen shounen. As for whether you should watch it or not- YOU DEFINITELY SHOULD. I don’t always tell people so confidently to watch an anime. It is the start of a new era through Jujutsu Kaisen, and I’m damn interested to see where it’s gonna go from here. See you all in the next season!

2.Review of Jujutsu Kaisen:

allegiant (All reviews)

Jujutsu kaisen was most hyped show of 2020. It was a new shonen so it was to be expected. Has it brought something new and distinctive to the genre and something others can get inspired from? Nope. Was it terrible? Nope. Was is a bit more than an average shonen? Maybe. Why? It has some qualities that put it aside from other battle shonen but many negatives as well.

○ A short introduction to the story:
So, we start off with our main character Yuji Itadori. A guy who is living an average life of an average teenager. He is passionate about his interests and mainly participates in the activities of the so-called occult club consisting of three members.

Sasaki and Iguchi- second-year students at Sugisawa third high school and close friends of Yuji. They seek interest in what the club title suggests, in scary curses, creepy stuff, and like to create theories about different “creepy” events that revolve around the high school.

One day they come across a cursed item wrapped in the paper without realizing and wouldn’t you guess it? Of course, they have to keep it and later on they take off the wrap. Attempting to do some kind of a ritual, they summon dangerous cursed spirits while Yuji is at the hospital with his grandpa who just died.

Fushiguro megumi, who is a student at Jujutsu high school and has dealt with such problems before. After Yuji tells Megumi how he and his friends stole the cursed item they rush to the school where the ‘” ritual” has already taken place, they are late. The curses are around the school attacking the two students inside the building.
Megumi tries dealing with them alone and saving Yuji’s friends but unfortunately fails and then our hero Yuji comes blasting through the window, helps Megumi, and is in a pretty bad situation. A curse is about to kill his friends, he has two choices left: letting them get eaten or eating the finger(the cursed item) that Sasaki and Iguchi were “playing” with a while ago.
He eats it of course and immediately receives great power and strength from it that he manages to defeat the curse alone.
After that Gojou shows up, the playful sensei I’ll talk about later but for now, I think you get the feel of the story. Now my problems with it:

Yuji gets over his grandpa’s death in no time.
The main intention of Yuji is to have a meaningful death. After his grandfather died with nobody but Yuji surrounding and worrying about him, he gets an example of a “lonely death” and the whole series is motivated by it.

But how is he able to get over it so fast? In 4 minutes or less. Just when Megumi shows up it’s like nothing happened and the rest of the series nothing is mentioned about it.

The pacing is fast. Too many events occur in the first episode which they could have given a bit more time in the second episode but in the second half of the show, it’s pretty slow and gets boring. So, the pacing is off.

Yuji’s motto: a meaningful death.
I don’t often use the word; in fact, I have never used it before in such a case but pretentious would be the best way to describe it.
I can feel how the show is trying to stand out with its “unique” complex concerns and distinguish itself from other generic shonen yet it fails and comes off laughable. Yes, it tries to impress you with its touching themes and inspire you through the attempt is so obvious it’s ridiculous.

I appreciate the fact that it at least wanted and tried to be different but can’t give it much credit because you already understand my feelings about it.

Plot-wise, Jujutsu Kaisen is just another average shonen. It offers nothing new to the plate so that I can enjoy and get excited while tasting it. The main goal, if I haven’t made it clear, is acquiring all of Sukuna’s 20 fingers, the one he ate. Now Sukuna is incarnated in him and can take over his body from time to time – 2/10.

The power system has been praised by many but there is nothing particular about it. Sure, it doesn’t go with an idiotic system that other shows do (I am looking at you MHA) but it isn’t that exceptional either. I will explain is short:

• The cursed spirits (also known as curses) are produced by cursed energy which is created when an individual has negative emotions but it’s also possible to use cursed energy in battles to fight against your opponent. Cursed spirits are evil creatures that mess with human emotions and receive power from them.

• Grades:
Grade 4 sorcerers are weak and inexperienced.
Grade 3 sorcerers are average students.
Grade 2 sorcerers are for those who are above average level.
Grade 1 sorcerers are high-status ones who possess great strength.
Special grades are exceptionally strong and abnormal. (Gojou Satoru for instance)

‣ Overall, the power system is good and worthy of 6/10.

Characters of Jujutsu Kaisen are a bit hard to talk about. The main characters are dull while the side ones are truly great and relatable.

The main characters:

• Yuji Itadori – The main protagonist of the series. His life drastically changes after encountering cursed items and is now forced to face many difficulties regarding them. He is passionate about his interests and doesn’t share many characteristics with other shonen protagonists yet still comes off annoying. He is overpowered (I know you are tired of this word but I have to point it out) and “funny”.
Sure, I agree with the famous “Comedy is subjective” sentence but the show seems desperate to makes us laugh with its “relatable” characters, I don’t know, humor might not be for me since I have heard many others liking it. Overall, he is not an average protagonist but just an annoying character – 3/10.

• Nobara Kugisaki – The deuteragonist of the series and she shares many interests with Yuji. They both love Tokyo, going out, sightseeing and etc. Nobara is a very confident character who is not afraid to fangirl of stuff but still stands still as a strong female. To be honest, the reason I dislike her is pretty similar to Yuji’s. And she definitely isn’t the best girl of the series– 3/10.

• Megumi Fushiguro – Another deuteragonist of the series. Unlike our Tokyo lovers, Megumi is a serious guy and doesn’t like to act stupid. He is fortunately not an apathetic character, which I expected him to be but I was surprised.

Most of the time deuteragonists like him tend to show no emotion but he is a good character. He looks callous yet he actually cares about everyone, just doesn’t like to make it obvious. Yuji and Nobara often tease him for hiding it but no matter what, it doesn’t ruin their friendship – 5/10.

• Gojo Satoru– deuteragonist of the series and as you might have heard, the cool, lively Gojo-sensei. I expected to like him but didn’t. He is just another OP, generic sensei but nothing similar to Kakashi. It’s just the way he can deal with everything and beat everyone easily, and then his playful personality irritates me and stops me from liking him – 2/10.

The side characters:

• Maki Zenin– the side character and undoubtedly the best girl of course. Maki has a funny, relatable protagonist but as soft as she might seem, she is actually a really strong lady. Yea, she might be overpowered but so many other great characteristics of making you love her a lot and again, Maki Zenin is the best girl of Jujutsu Kaisen, no one can deny that or else I am ready to throw some hands – 8/10.

• Panda – a side character. My beloved panda. He is such a lovable character with such a sweet personality I just can’t help but mention him and give him the attention he deserves. He is a calm upperclassman who tends to be welcoming and kind to his underclassmen. Sometimes he might be sarcastic but always tries to sympathize with characters and understand their feelings. I really love him – 9/10.

• Aoi Tondou – another side character and my man. Aoi is the main entertainment of the show, at least for me. He doesn’t get a too big amount of screen time but not too little either so you could say it’s a decent amount for a side character. He likes to fight people who have shit taste in women, like Megumi for example who cares about the personality. But he likes Yuji because they share the same interest and both like women with big a**es. Yup, my man has great taste and there is no denying it – 7/10.

Toge Inumaki – Salmon. Toge is a quiet guy and a bit intimidating at first look, whatsoever he is still a great character with a great personality – 5/10.

• Kasumi – right after Maki, Kasumi is the best girl. She is a helpless character. Tries to stand still and fight, do her best and achieve the greatest but mostly fails, and it’s relatable. I loved every scene that she was in, I was able to be compassionate towards so a solid –  9/10.

Villains –  in Jujutsu Kaisen are interesting. I will describe them shortly. Sukuna is the main antagonist whose fingers the group has to acquire so Yuji can eat all of them at once. He reminds me of Gojou for some reason. They share playful personalities, both are overpowered, yet they both feel different in some way. Suguru is also a very interesting character though I don’t have much to say about him. Mahito can burn in hell, I will be watching with a happy smile on my face. Overall villains get a 6/10.

‣ Character in Jujutsu Kaisen are funny. Putting main ones and side ones together, we get – 6.5/10.

‣ Animation is god-tier. I don’t know why I was denying that fact but it really does a great job with the dark atmosphere and conveying the horrific elements the show has to offer. There are a lot of fighting scenes and in every single one fighting choreography and animation are distinguishable. Openings and endings are a banger. I like the OST; it matches the atmosphere a lot. There is nothing to complain about in this criteria so – 9/10.

Jujutsu Kaisen was a well-done shonen, it still calls for many adjustments to be great but I won’t withhold and state that it has many pros as well. With well-written side characters, amazing soundtracks, god-tier animation, and fighting choreography, I won’t dissuade someone from checking it out, as for myself, I wasn’t necessarily blown away, it was the first season so it didn’t manage to confound me but what can I say, folks? It wasn’t that bad after all.
——————–
I have made a lot of changes to the review since the last one I wrote got a lot of upvotes and made it to the top reviews which were unexpected since I wrote it a few hours after the show finished and the reviews were already published. I also realized I was being too harsh on it and how badly the previous review was written so I hope it doesn’t irritate any of you.

Also, if you are a fan of the series and think this score is too low, I am sorry but I have brought my arguments in the review and I hope you understand. Thank you for reading, hope it was informative.

Akudama Drive anime Story:

Akudama Drive anime episodes is about Several highly skilled offenders, dubbed “Akudama,” are sent a letter from an unknown client to release a death row inmate named Cutthroat before he is executed in a dystopian future where Kansai has become a vassal state of Kantō.

Four Akudama respond to the challenge and go down to the headquarters of the Kansai Police to win a major payday.

Once inside, however, they learn that the job was part of their client’s bigger scheme to make them work together on a bigger job: To infiltrate the shinkansen and to steal from a vault at the front of the train precious cargo.

An ordinary girl arrested on a minor charge, but compelled to maintain the image of a Swindler, is roped into the work.

And a low-level Hoodlum who during the original heist, mistakenly broke out of prison. The team must work together to complete the job and earn their big payday, all while holding their tail ahead of the Kansai Police executioners.

Akudama Drive characters:

  • Ordinary Person (一般人, Ippanjin) / Swindler (詐欺師, Sagi-shi)
  • Courier (運び屋, Hakobi-ya)
  • Brawler (喧嘩屋, Kenka-ya)
  • Hacker (ハッカー, Hakkā)
  • Doctor (医者, Isha)

Hoodlum (チンピラ, Chinpira)The characters are pretty interesting. They’re all unique in their own way which got me interested in their individual concept. In terms of the general concept and relationship of characters.

it’s quite a cliche as you can view it as a Cops and Robbers concept but what made it levels above that concept is adding this “No Mercy” rule to it and making each Akudama different to the other for the Executioners to have a hard time taking them down.

For the side characters, the Executioners are just plain. It’s like those characters who truly live for just one purpose and nothing else. Some Executioners accept and live that purpose while some refuse to let a purpose control their lives and continue their job.

Akudama Drive anime episodes Rating:

The plot of this anime was such a wonderful piece of art that I had hyped up for it to start airing and hopefully;it didn’t disappoint me it’s not a big deal.

I mean it’s the usual story of bungo stray dogs or gangsta or Baccano, but it’s a nice one that I think will have deep significance because it’s from the same creator as danganronpa.

The art in this anime is something legitimate even the colors are really good, now let’s talk about the animation; the animation is something that is supposed to be even better from the first-rate studio-like pierrot within the fights.

Characters in this anime are really good you know the kinds of characters that complete each other like bungo stray dogs and other animes we have the hack.

It’s one of those anime that has action but also has enough of a story that keeps you wanting to know what happens next.

Wishing the episodes would come sooner. Every episode ends with a way of you wanting to watch the next hoping it delivers and so far it hasn’t disappointed.

And anime1st is the best place where to watch akudama drive for free.
