Tokyo Revengers Stroy :
Takemichi Hanagaki’s second year of middle school was the highest point in his life. He had respect, a gang of friends he could count on, and even a girlfriend. But that was twelve years ago.
Today, he’s a nobody: a washed-up nonentity made fun of by children and always forced to apologize to his younger boss. A sudden news report on the Tokyo Manji Gang’s cruel murder of the only girlfriend he ever had alongside her brother only adds insult to injury. Half a second before a train ends his pitiful life for good, Takemichi flashes back to that same day twelve years ago, when he was still dating Hinata Tachibana.
After being forced to relive the very same day that began his downward spiral, Takemichi meets Hinata’s younger brother. Without thinking, he admits to his seeming death before flashing back to the past. Takemichi urges him to protect his sister before inexplicably returning to the future. Miraculously, he isn’t dead.
Stranger still, the future has changed. It seems as though Takemichi can alter the flow of time. Given the chance to prevent his ex-girlfriend’s tragic death at the hands of the Tokyo Manji Gang, Takemichi decides to fly through time to change the course of the future.
Tokyo Revengers Characters
Tokyo Revengers Background :
Most members are middle-schoolers. The gang’s ethics include upholding every member’s honor and never stooping to act deplorably or cowardly.
The present-day Toman of one of the alternate timelines has since completely been warped by a few individuals. Now, the gang has become a full-fledged crime syndicate, committing every crime imaginable.
Tokyo Revengers Deeper Story Details :
The gang’s initial identity was a grade-school biker friend group formed by six middle-school friends from schools around Tokyo.
Toman was founded on June 19 with Baji‘s idea of making their own gang in order to be able to fight the Black Dragons. Their gang was founded with the motto, “If one of us gets hurt, we’ll protect them… a gang that’s all for one, one for all.” [2]
Toman started out as a group of middle-schoolers: Mikey, Draken, Baji, Mitsuya, Pah-chin, and Kazutora. Back then, they rode their bikes around, searching for fun and just having a good time in general.
They would constantly banter and play pranks on each other, but it was all in good faith. In 2003, Mitsuya created the uniforms that would become the official Toman uniform a few years later and the iconic photo of the founders was taken.
A few days before Mikey’s birthday, Kazutora wants to steal a better bike for Mikey and convinces a begrudging Baji to go along with them. They almost steal the bike, but the shop owner catches them. To prevent themselves from getting arrested, Kazutora hits him with a wrench, but accidentally kills him. Kazutora snaps from the ordeal and is sent to a reform school. The naive and pure Toman was no more.
Tokyo Revengers Structure :
Toman is led by Mikey and Draken as leader and vice-leader, respectively. There are five divisions which comprises around 20 guys each. [3]
- First Division – This division is co-led by Keisuke Baji and Kazutora Hanemiya and at the time of the Gang’s foundation, was intended as an “attack unit”. Following the events of Valhalla, the First Division is now led by Takemichi Hanagaki.
- Second Division – Led by Takashi Mitsuya, the second division was originally intended to be the gang’s “elite guard”.
- Third Division – The third division is led by Pah-chin, the original Flag Bearer of the gang. The division seems to specialize in brute force.
- Fourth Division – Led by Smiley, not much informations are knew about this division.
- Fifth Division – The division led by Mucho, is a “special task division” that allowed infighting. They are considered Toman’s “Public Morality Council”. They can punish any traitors in Toman without the leader’s decree. [4]
- Sixth Division – A temporary sixth division was created after the gang absorved the Moebius and Valhalla gang members. It was led by Shuji Hanma who previously had acted as leader of both rival gangs. After Hanma left Toman, he took his subordinates with him and the division was disbanded.

Tokyo Revengers Trivia :
- Manji (卍) – crux gammata is also known as swastika symbol, is an ancient religious icon in the cultures of Eurasia. It was used as a symbol of divinity and spirituality in Indian religions, including Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism. The name is derived from the Sanskrit svastika (meaning “welfare,” from su – “well” + asti “he is”).
- As a symbol of prosperity and good fortune, the swastika was widely used throughout the ancient world (for example, appearing often on Mesopotamian coinage), including North and South America and has been used in Japan as a symbol of Buddhism since ancient times. To be precise, the symbol generally used by Japanese Buddhism is the sauvatika, which moves in a counterclockwise direction, and is called the manji in Japanese.
- The arms of the swastika, which point in a clockwise direction (卐), are generally considered a solar symbol. It was this version (the hakenkreuz) that was perverted by the Nazis. The sauvastika generally stands for night, rituals and often for magical practices.

Tokyo Revengers Review N°1 :
Tokyo Revengers. Just a bunch of delinquents. Made my account just to write this review if that says anything. This show has me on the edge of my seat every episode. Can’t remember the last time I got this hyped up. Never thought I would get so hooked on this kind of a story; it’s not my usual.
Fantastic character development. I feel as though each character has meaning and is important. Perfect amount of action, comedy and romance to keep you engaged. Great plot and amazing pacing. The only real improvement I could even ask for is a bit better art. However that is just me comparing it to Ufotable, Inc. Loving everything about it. Definitely my favourite of this season.
Tokyo Revengers Review N°2 :
I didn’t know what to expect with this going on. From the way the thing started, it felt like a typical isekai opening.
Basically, useless nobody living a crap life starts to reminisce about his middle school glory days when he hears that his middle school girlfriend was killed by a Tokyo gang. Through a series of events, he ends up pushed in front of a train and wakes up in the body of his middle school self.
The rest of the plot revolves around him attempting to change the future to save his girlfriend, all while not being sure the whole thing isn’t an elaborate flashback/wish fulfillment fantasy taking place moments before his death.
It’s a pretty effective plot hook, while also tackling relatable issues, such as being embarrassed at how your younger self used to be, or pinpointing places/choices where your life went off the rails for the worse. I’m very much looking forward to future episodes.
